Poetry reading Jan. 26

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Ancient City Poets will host the first poetry reading of 2020 on Sunday Jan. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada St., across fromLightner Museum.

Join us for a poetic celebration of the new year that is now here. Readers are invited to present poems that relate to a new decade or your vision for 2020.

The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give us two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook. Invite a friend or two or three to cheer you on.

A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 p.m. and the open mic will start at 3 p.m. This month’s facilitator, Robert Waldner, will call each reader up to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 p.m. to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
