Poetry reading Feb.23

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The Ancient City Poets will host a reading that celebrates love on Sunday Feb. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada St., , across from the Lightner Museum).

Join us for a love fest. Readers are invited to share words that relate to love – the good, the bed, and the ugly.

The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give us two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook. Invite a friend or two or three to cheer you on.

A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 p.m. and the open mic will start at 3 p.m.. This month’s facilitator, Robert Waldner, will call each reader up to to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 p.m. to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.

We are always looking for student and professionals with video and still photo equipment to document our readings and the local poetry scene, in exchange for free advertising and exposure. Go to our website or reply to this email for more info.

Keep in touch and keep being creative.
APRIL IS NATIONAL POETRY MONTH

We are all getting excited for April. I am always interested in helping to spread the word of poetry, poets, and the St. Augustine poetry scene. Please let me know if you are interested in spotlighting the efforts of myself and the Ancient City Poets in April.
