Ridding your yard of moles
Q: I bought a spear trap to catch moles that are tearing up my lawn. I have yet to catch anything. What can I try to increase my rate of success?
A: The trap must be placed in an active tunnel. Step on all the tunnels you can find, collapsing them. The next day observe to see which have been re-dug. Set the trap in one of those tunnels. This will increase your chances of catching a mole.
Q: Why do I have so much mole activity in my yard? What are they feeding on?
A: Moles are meat eaters. Under the yard they forage for worms, grubs, mole crickets or any other insects. If you have a lot of oak trees you may have earthworms which are attracting the moles.
