Lightner re-opening May 8
SAINT AUGUSTINE – Lightner Museum announces the museum is opening its doors Friday, May 8, with regular hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
“The safety and health of our visitors is of the utmost importance to us at the museum,” Lightner officials note”. As a result, we will operate at a 25% capacity, with timed entries. There is a suggested route for visitors to follow while touring the museum. Not only have we taken great care to professionally sanitize the entire museum, we will also offer free gloves and masks to our visitors, and hand sanitizers are set up throughout the museum.
“During this time of quarantine, we have been hard at work: the entire first floor of the museum has been renovated. We have new flooring. Some objects have moved. Two bathrooms have been gutted, renewed, and are now open to the public. And last but not least, our gift shop is now located in the former Victorian Village. This is a much more expansive space, and has allowed us to offer many more items to choose from. In this area, you can also get your silhouette done by our artist, Jeanine, or sit at one of our new cozy tables and enjoy a drink and snack.”
