Pilot Club sponsoring annual Memorial Day tribute

SAINT AUGUSTINE – Flags honoring those who have served in the military will again be placed in front of the Lightner/City hall building this Memorial Day weekend by the Pilot Club of St. Augustine.

Kay Burtin, chairman, announces that the flags will be put in place beginning at 10 a.m. May 23; and removed beginning at 5 p.m. May 25. The flags recognize those who have served – both living and deceased – in all branches of the military, including Coast Guard and National Guard. A new category has been added this year, First Responders.

Flags with the names of individuals honored in past years have been retained, but anyone who would like to submit a new name in any of the categories is invited to contact Kay at 904-824-1268.

In addition, in past years, volunteers in the community have turned out to assist Pilots in placing the flags, and anyone who would like to join club members in this project is invited to report at 10 a.m. May 23; and/or 5 p.m. May 25.

For further information contact Kay at 904-824-1268.
