Are lady bugs insect controls
Q. I planted some seeds and would like to know how to keep chickens out of them.
A. In this case, the best control is physical barrier. Place a medium mesh wire or screen over the ground so the chickens cannot scratch or dig. You could also fence off the area.
Q. Are the lady bugs sold at garden centers really effective at controlling other insects?
A. Yes and no. Ladybugs are carnivores. They will stick around and hunt insects as long as they are plentiful. Once pests are controlled the ladybugs will be off to happier hunting grounds.
