Cultural group diversity policy

SAINT JOHNS COUNTY – The St. Johns Cultural Council has issued the following statement regarding its commitment to diversity and inclusion:

“The St. Johns Cultural Council believes that equity and justice must be part of every aspect of its work. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is not new, but on May 27, 2020 our Board of Directors formally adopted the following policy to inform our efforts as we stand with, advocate for, and support artists and cultural organizations who are working to make our world a more beautiful and inclusive place.

“We are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment that provides equal opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, color, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or any other protected category under federal, state and local law.  We pledge to build a diverse board, and to provide support for local artists and arts organizations in an intentional way, honoring our commitment to diversity and inclusion in our grant-making and in all of our programming.”
