Historical group receives humanities supplemental funding

SAINT AUGUSTINE – The St. Augustine Historical Society has received supplemental funding from the Florida Humanities Council through a 2020 “Florida Humanities CARES” grant. Funding has been provided to the St. Augustine Historical Society from the National Endowment for the Humanities through a grant from the Florida Humanities as part of the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020. This funding of $2750 is in addition to the $7,000 grant that was previously awarded to the St. Augustine Historical Society from the Florida Humanities Council through a 2020 “Florida Humanities CARES” grant in June, 2020.
The initial great and the supplement will provide vital funding for general operational expenses so that we may continue to provide the community with access to historical resources and to uphold our mission  to acquire, preserve, and interpret the historical resources of St. Augustine and its sphere of influence for  the benefit of the public through its stewardship of historic buildings and collections, research, publications and educational programming.
