City to experience high tides

SAINT AUGUSTINE – News from the City of St. Augustine.

A nor’easter is forecast for St. Johns County with unusually high surf and tides, dangerous currents and strong winds beginning Saturday, Sept. 19, through early next week.

Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to keep an eye on the weather and avoid driving through standing water.

The City of St. Augustine Public Works Department reminds residents to report flooding and include images when possible, via the city’s website. City engineers will be able to use this information when designing flood mitigation projects. Sept. 21, the city will begin a construction rehabilitation project at the historic downtown parking facility. Work is expected to be completed in early November, weather permitting.

The city has contracted with  Restocon to complete concrete flooring work with a focus on the fourth floor. During repairs the facility will remain open excluding the fourth floor and part of the third floor.

For additional information contact the parking facility at 904-484-5160.
